Megan attended South Baylo University in California. She grew up watching her grandfather treat patients as an acupuncturist and she was amazed at how effective and helpful it was for them. Her intention of becoming an acupuncturist naturally became bigger and she yearned to be a healer to help people just as her grandfather had. Her favorite part of being an acupuncturist is seeing the immediate improvements of her patients and how they leave the clinic with brighter, happier expressions. She joined Modern Acupuncture in Houston because she likes the unique approach and the ability to help multiple people at once. When she’s not working, Megan enjoys walks In the park with her family in the Houston area and watching baseball.
Henry is a graduate of Texas Health and Sciences University
His family inspired him to become an acupuncturist. Growing up in Vietnam and witnessing his mom successfully treat many family members and friends through alternative medicine led him to also follow this path of helping people find true healing. His favorite part of being an acupuncturist is seeing patients finally experience relief from their chronic illnesses or pain.
He wanted to be part of the Modern Acupuncture team because he loves the Modern Acupuncture approach. It streamlines traditional acupuncture by focusing simply on distal points. It is easier on the patients, and he believes it is more effective for treating pain and illness.
When he’s not working, Henry loves playing sports, lifting weights, hiking and cliff jumping.
Meredith is a graduate of Texas Health and Science University in Austin, TX. She became an acupuncturist because growing up, she suffered from chronic headaches and skin issues. She relied on weekly allergy shots and multiple prescription medications to feel better. After college, she moved to South Korea for three years, and while there, she adopted a more balanced diet and lifestyle and also became acquainted with acupuncture and other holistic forms of healthcare. Through these lifestyle shifts, her overall health and energy levels improved dramatically — and her allergies even went away and have yet to return! She knew she needed to return to the States and share what she had learned, to help others find balance and feel better, too.
Her favorite part of being an acupuncturist is being able to play a part in helping others find physical and/or emotional relief, naturally and without the use of pharmaceuticals.
She decided to join the Modern Acupuncture team because she feels Eastern Medicine is needed more than ever in our high-stress, overly-medicated culture. She likes that Modern Acupuncture helps to bridge the divide between East and West and expose many more people to the incredible benefits of acupuncture
When she isn’t treating patients, Meredith loves reading, cooking (and eating!), practicing yoga, writing, hiking with my dogs, and running an online vintage clothing shop.
Sepideh attended South Baylo University in Ahaheim, California. Always fascinated with eastern medicine, when she became a medical doctor she wanted to pursue another aspect of Medicine. When she moved to the US, it gave her the opportunity to study Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Being able to help patients without having them take different types of medicines or going through invasive and unnecessary procedures is what Sepideh loves the most about being an acupuncturist. She believes acupuncture is a great way to get treated while avoiding side effects of medicine. In addition, seeing patients making progress in a short period of time is exhilarating for her. Sepideh decided to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team because of the effective methods used and relaxing atmosphere. Outside of work, she enjoys walking, dancing, reading, cooking, and listening to music and watching movies.
From early childhood, Azar was fascinated with the science of diagnosing and treating patients. And when Acupuncture helped with chronic low back pain, and allergies, Azar decided to study it and become an Acupuncturist. Azar knows acupuncture can help people from both physiological and psychological aspects. It balances the functions of the organs in the body (Yin & Yang), relieves pain, and boosts immunity. Psychologically, it calms the mind, relieves stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Azar enjoys treating patients at Bunker Hill because it provides a relaxing atmosphere, different from a doctor’s office, for patients to come and experience acupuncture in a spa like environment. Azar graduated from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Houston, Texas.
Having grown up in Korea, John was exposed to the rich cultural traditions of oriental medicine. This early exposure sparked his interest in acupuncture, and it led to pursue a degree at South Baylo University in Anaheim, California to further his knowledge of this ancient healing art. After completing his studies, John returned to Korea to gain more experience and to continue learning about the art of acupuncture. He also joined a non-profit acupuncture service association and volunteered his services to underprivileged communities. John decided to join the team at Modern Acupuncture Bunker Hill because of our dedication to providing easily accessible, high-quality, and modernized acupuncture treatments to all individuals seeking a natural and holistic approach to wellness. In his free time, John enjoys playing tennis to stay active and healthy. He also love visiting calm and cozy cafes to take quiet moments with a cup of coffee and his laptop.

Very nice staff, environment and all around experience. Decided to purchase package deal after my session.
I have not felt this well in many years. I have had roughly 15 sessions or treatments which cover anxiety, digestive disorders as well as the glow facial treatment which has already improved the overall look of my skin. The environment is relaxing and the staff is outstanding - from the helpful manager Chris to Marie who is an exceptional acupuncturist. The other staff is good as well best of all it is extremely affordable so I am able to attend as often as needed. I highly recommend this for your health and mental well-being !
I had my first ever acupuncture session with Megan. It’s very relaxing! It eased my stress the rest of the day!
