Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Karyla attended the Tri State College of Acupuncture in New York City, NY. As a Clinical Counselor, she found that many people suffer from anxiety and depression due to chronic pain and other health issues. After having success using acupuncture for her own health, she became fascinated and had to know more. It was the logical next step for her to study this amazing medical system so I could help people in a truly holistic way. The thing Karyla loves the most about being an acupuncturist is making people feel better and improving their emotional outlook on life through relieving their pain. She says she is in awe every day of the consistent results acupuncture treatments provide. After 18 years of practice, she still sees acupuncture bringing joy back into many lives, including her own. Karyla chose to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team to work with other practitioners with the same goal in mind: for acupuncture to be accessible to more people. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, studying nutrition and psychology, cooking healthy and traditional ethnic meals, and spending time with friends. 

Pamela has a deep passion to help people one on one and to help improve their quality of life. She wants to feel she am making a difference. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, she was a Massage Therapist. When her body starting telling her she wouldn’t be able to perform massage much longer, she decided to expand my knowledge and acupuncture was exactly what she was looking for. She went to school at the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, TX and has been practicing acupuncture for 11 years. She believe acupuncture should be available to anyone who would like to try it. The Modern Acupuncture Belle Hall helps this to be more of a reality. Acupuncture can make people's lives better because it affects the body physically, emotionally and energetically. It is all connected. The acupuncture treatment allows the body to relax and to help realign all that is out of balance. Consistent treatments are the most effective as there is a cumulative effect. When the nervous system is calmed and blood and energy flow restored, all types of issues can be resolved. Pamela loves all of the nature in the Charleston area. Everywhere she goes, there are parks and trails and beaches. Driving usually requires going over a bridge, where views are stunning. It is also a progressive area so great restaurants and healthy food are readily available.
