After graduating with a psychology degree from University of Buffalo, Melissa was drawn to the acupuncture profession for its ability to help patients to begin a life of healing and balance. In fact, Melissa had health issues of her own that originally brought her to acupuncture after Western medicine alone fell short. Through her personal healing experience with acupuncture, Melissa is inspired to heal others through holistic treatments. Melissa graduated from Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver; she loves being an acupuncturist and is constantly invigorated by the results she sees in her patients.
Melissa chose to join the Modern Acupuncture team because she believes wholeheartedly in the mission of “Making Lives Better,” and feels that affordable and accessible care can bring acupuncture into the mainstream.
When she isn’t treating patients, Melissa can likely be found rock climbing. Melissa is passionate about adventures. She loves traveling and staying active by dancing, skiing and hiking.
Stacey attended the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine. Like many healers, her journey to practicing acupuncture began on the road to healing herself. Acupuncture and herbs helped her to have a baby after two years of trying to solve her fertility issues with Western Medicine.
Eastern Medicine changed her life in the best possible way so she decided to become an acupuncturist to help others as well. Stacey believes acupuncture makes peoples lives better by resetting the nervous system into a relaxing, healing state. "Our lives have become so hectic in this modern world that we are often operating in fight or flight. It not only provides relief from stress; it alleviates pain, calms inflammation and restores overall health," Stacey says.
She decided to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team because she resonates with its mission to make lives better through the delivery of affordable and approachable care for people in her community. When asked what she loves most about Denver, Stacey says “Denver is an amazing place to practice acupuncture because of its outdoor focused lifestyle. People here are already in the mindset to live a healthful life and acupuncture fits seamlessly into that picture.”
Dr. Eliz Erman-Britton has been a dedicated practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 14 years. Her studies at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, including an internship Cheng Du University of TCM in Si Chuan, China, and clinical experience working in a Western Medicine Family Practice have helped her build a unique understanding of how Chinese and Western medicine can coexist and mutually benefit from each other.
Her clinical experiences include evaluating and treating pain management, PTSD, sleep disorders, headaches, migraines, anxiety, immunology, sports trauma, neurological issues, gastrointestinal disorders, and psycho-emotional imbalances, among others.
Eliz believes that Acupuncture has the ability to improve the physical social, and mental wellbeing of an individual - ultimately allowing us to live a better quality of life each day. Modern Acupuncture seemed like a perfect fit as Eliz is very drawn to community acupuncture as she enjoys the diversity in cases, pace and its ability for treatments to be given at a lower price point.
As a Denver newbie, she loves how active the majority of people are outdoors. During her free time, Eliz likes to go hiking, kayaking, tend the garden at home, and have adventures with her family.

The treatments can change your life and health! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. It has improved our health at a time when we needed it the most. Great ambience too!
My first acupuncture session was amazing, multiple issues that have bothered me for month's. Melissa targeted these issues and I have more range of motion, and less tightness in these areas.
Here is a post COVID update— I am so glad they are open and it continues to be an awesome experience!! I feel very safe...they follow all good practices (everyone wears masks), they check temperature before going back and sanitize every surface before and after every patient including the door handles!! Patients are never put next to each other and most often across the room from each other if more than one person is being treated. I feel like they are taking every single possible step to keep clients safe and really going the extra mile. Kudos, and I am so glad they are open!! ————————————// It’s a great concept and a shorter visit than other places. I love the facial acupuncture. The acupuncturists are all excellent. I prefer the community environment setting like this is, and love the streaming nature videos. The chairs have light massage and heat and recline back, which works great but don’t expect any localized treatments on your back because it’s all face up in the chairs. Needles are in for 20 minutes which is the minimum needed to be effective. I bought the unlimited for a year package and so far I can always get an appointment when I want one. They are closed on Sundays.
M.A. Acupuncture is seriously life changing. I get acupuncture to help with my sleep, stress and to help support my immune system. Especially right now during this pandemic, I'm especially grateful that M.A. Acupuncture is open, so I can get treatments. I'm an essential worker and I also have asthma, so acupuncture has definitely helped me with my stress relief, my sleep, and is supporting my immune system. Melissa, the acupuncturist, is awesome. 10/10 recommend coming to ModAcu Lakewood, they're all so fantastic!🙌ðŸ»ðŸ˜
I have osteoarthritis and am in constant pain. I was willing to try anything. So I signed up for a free visit. After five sessions I had TWO consecutive PAIN FREE days. No pills, no creams, no solutions. This is a very, very big deal. I haven’t had a pain FREE day in a very long time. It’s comfortable, it’s relaxing- I fall asleep most of the time- they make me tea to take with me!! Danielle and the staff are so nice, very accommodating and genuinely care. Highly recommended!!
